Mountain Keriang

The Gunung Keriang Recreation Park, which is located at 12 km from the heart of Alor Setar City is one of the major tourist attractions in the state of Kedah. The park is a natural habitat for hundreds of tree and plants species. Gunung Keriang or Mount Keriang is an elephant shaped mountain located amidst flat paddy field of the state of Kedah. Its caves, Gua Keriang (Keriang Caves) is rich in crystals formation that comes in difference colours and shapes like porcupine, starfish, tetragonal, hexagonal etc which is a feng shui favourites to the Chinese. Crystal enthusiasts will enjoy the cave exploration or excavation activities that one can embark upon in this fantastic nature park. Only certain crystal caves be opened for excavation by locals while other could be opened for show cave tourism.
